Between roughly 1999 and 2010, before the App Store existed, phones already had games — hundreds of millions of people played them on Nokias, Sony Ericssons and countless regional handsets. Those games shipped as J2ME midlets, MediaTek MRE apps, sky-mobi MRP packages and In-Fusio ExEn gamelets. Almost none of them run anywhere today.
Handyplay is a platform for playing that era again. We build emulator cores for each runtime, compile them to WebAssembly, and wrap them in one player that works in a browser, in native iOS and Android apps, and inside Telegram. Your imports and save states sync across all of them.
The emulator cores are open source. The compatibility pages on this site are generated from the same database our apps use to identify game files by hash.
